This is a beautifully soft powder-blue silk damask haori with a woven in lattice pattern called 'asanoha' by the Japanese. At the centre of each section, where the lines meet, there is a little white circle which has been achieved by the 'shibori' technique, a method of tie dye where small pieces of fabric are gathered and tied/sewn to resist the dye. The haori is lined with a very soft synthetic fabric, also tie-dyed and it comes complete with woven 'himo' ties to close it. With its soft drape and colour, this haori would go perfectly with jeans or dressed up in the evening with a pair of black linen trousers and a camisole top!
