This scarf is made from 'shibori' silk, a method of tie-dye which the Japanese have elevated to a fine art (click on 'Featured Products' for more information about shibori). The technique leaves a 'puckered' effect which is valued by the Japanese and gives added warmth and insulation to the silk.
This scarf is a deep blue and measures 13in (33cm) wide and is 59in (150cm) long, so plenty to double round your neck or just leave gracefully long. I wear one of these shibori scarves myself throughout the winter and feel elegant every time I wear it, even if it's with jeans which I wear most of the time!
