Kasuri Wool 25

This is a slightly slubby wool/silk blend with a lively design of chevrons and a 'speckling' of black threads throughout the background, worked in a 'kasuri' (ikat) technique, whereby individual groups of warp threads are gathered and tied at intervals to create a resist before weaving.  This gives the design a characteristic 'fuzzy' edge where the dye has 'bled' slightly into the resist areas.
