This is a very soft, lightweight crepe silk haori dating from the 1940's and has the deeper sleeves and longer body length characteristic of that period. It has a very Japanese design of fans and flowers across the back, woven in shimmering gold and silver threads. The haori is lined with a soft synthetic fabric with mulit-coloured stripes. The whitish marks you see on the photos are a trick of the light when I was taking the photograph, and the haori is perfectly black throughout! It has a lovely 'mon' (family crest) at the nape of the neck which has been hand-embroidered in gold thread. This haori is in very good condition and, with it's lighter weight and softness, this haori will be a pleasure to wear.
