This is a very smooth silk 'juban' with a crimson background and a design in white of cranes in flight. A juban is the kimono worn under the outer kimono and they make very good dressing-gowns as they are normally a shorter, more manageable length than the outer kimono, which is meant to be hitched up and fixed in place with the obi. It is lined with plain crimson silk. This juban has very deep sleeves, which indicate that it was likely made for a young girl and this is confirmed by it's small size. It is in excellent condition.
