The Japanese specialise in a kind of fine wool that is used for spring and autumn kimono. The quality is first-rate and the designs and weaves of these kimono are are equal to those of their silk counterparts. I discovered these wools rather late in my 'kimono career' and this kimono is a fine example, (see also wool kimono 010). The wool of this unlined kimono has a brocade weave running through it that echoes the print design of flowers and leaves. It has never been worn and is in excellent condition. These kimono are soft and comfortable enough to wear as a dressing-gown or even a stylish coat for the cooler seasons.
