This scarf is made from 'shibori' silk, a method of tie-dye which the Japanese have elevated to a fine art (click on 'Featured Products' for more information about shibori). The technique leaves a 'puckered' effect which is valued by the Japanese and gives added warmth and insulation to the silk.
This scarf measures 14in (35.6 cm) wide and is approximately 67in (170cm) long, so plenty to double round your neck or just leave gracefully long. The hems are hand-rolled and sewn. I wear one of these shibori scarves throughout the winter and feel elegant every time I wear it, even with jeans which I wear most of the time!
