These heirloom fabrics are yarn-dyed and woven in Japan, then the designs are screen-printed by hand in a small workshop in Kyoto. The fabrics are a modern evolution of katazome (stencil-printing) and tsutsugaki (free-hand painting). Both of these techniques have been practiced in Japan for centuries. These fabrics are of premium quality, with a beautifully soft handle and drape. They are ideal for curtains, cushions, jackets, trousers, bags and anything else that inspires you.
Delivery: Please note that we have most patterns in stock and lead-time for designs that are not is 6 weeks.
Washing instructions: These fabrics have been repeatedly washed, however for the first one or two washes, please wash seperately. The chances of the dye staining any other cloth is slight, but it's best to be on the safe side!
