The design on this dark blue indigo cotton has been produced with the 'kasuri' (ikat) technique, a form of tie-dye whereby groups of warp and/or weft threads are gathered and tied at intervals to produce a resist. This fabric is a weft ikat, meaning that the the duck-egg bluedesign runs along the horizontal threads. It has quite a lot of sizing in it but will soften beautifully with washing.
